The media server software is the perfect complement for a business that wants to seamlessly add voicemail, auto attendant, and music on hold to the core 4S system. With the 4S family of solutions all features can be centrally controlled by your administrator or managed by the end user within your preset guidelines.
Optional NAT and STUN software can be added to your system to enhance your remote
office users experience and ease of public to private IP address translation.
The snom 4S NAT Filter enables non-NAT aware devices to operate in private networks and behind firewalls. The NAT filter operates on a public IP address and is addressed as outbound proxy. Non- NAT aware devices are automatically refreshed; NAT-aware devices that operate behind symmetrical
NAT may self-refresh their bindings using the built-in STUN server of the filter.
Devices on public Internet traverse the filter without changes or refreshes. By
supporting Interactive Communications Establishment (ICE), the number of calls that must go through the filter can be minimized.
The operator version of the product also offers recording capabilities that may be needed for regulatory purposes. Through a separate management interface, operators can define SIP accounts/DID numbers that will silently be recorded. The filter records in uncompressed PCAP format which is primary important for troubleshooting and signaling recording. It also offers a compressed mode where only the voice part of the conversation is recorded in highly-compressed audio format.
ABPs NAT PASS is a generic NAT Traversal solution that releases all possible RTP streams to minimize the bandwidth requirement through the Outbound Proxy Server and is usable on most generic SIP Servers for Voice, IM and Video applications. More on NATPASS
