Send and receive faxes in style using Switchvox!

When Switchvox 4.0 was announced we never imagined how much value the new fax capability would bring to business users. The announcement said “ T.38 Fax protocol, the original nemesis of the IP PBX, is now supported” and the truth is that this sentence means several good things:

1.- You can use your fax machine or you can fax a document directly from any application: Just 'print' to the Switchvox PBX.
2.- Switchvox receives faxes at your normal phone number, so you can eliminate the dedicated analog line(s) for Fax. The fax support includes full auto-detection, so the same number can be used for both voice and inbound faxes with support for both SIP and analog calls.
3.- It also means support of fax over SIP trunks through the PBX to the fax machine.

Switchvox's new fax capabilities are highly integrated into the overall system. If you send a fax to a phone number, Switchvox will detect it and send a notification saying that the related user got a fax. You can also get that notification on the Web, and of course you can receive notifications on any device that's capable of receiving e-mail. Switchvox sets up special Outlook folders for incoming faxes

One channel of Fax For Asterisk is provided to all customers of Switchvox SMB 4.0 as well as all customers upgrading from SMB 3.5 who maintain active user subscriptions and software maintenance.

The new fax implementation is very cool and easy to implement. We have played with it and we feel more than happy with it. We only can recommend you to follow the instructions included in the following Powerpoint with detailed Instructions in order to enable Fax capability in Switchvox. It includes the complete procedure on how to access and activate the free Switchvox fax license with screen shots on a step-by-step basis.
