IP Digital Signage and IPTV

Digital signage is becoming more and more widely used everywhere you go. You can't go to a retail/corporate/hospitality/financial/academic institution without seeing numerous video monitors with either pre-made or live multimedia content on them. However, traditional digital signage products left management and control of the endpoints to be extremely difficult. If you had 50 displays, you would either have to physically go to all 50 displays for content updates or use a service with a proprietary monitor and processing software which usually included additional licensing or monthly fees. With IP Signage and Cabletime MediaStar products, you can control an unlimited amount of IP endpoints on a network remotely from your desk simply via a Web Interface.

Utilizing a Cabletime MediaStar 760 or 780 model signage and decoder box, you can pick exactly what multimedia content you want to show at what exact time at each endpoint. This is called playlist mode and you would make the decisions of what to display at any networked display throughout the day. For example, for any given location you could have the unit begin at 7am. Then you declare it to play a welcome screen for an hour followed by a PowerPoint of today's agenda for the next hour. You could then cycle through video files, html pages, or images in whatever order for however long you would like. You would know exactly what each screen is showing at any specific time of the day. Each monitor throughout a building or campus could show the exact same or completely different content. There is a great deal of customization and control with these Cabletime products. Alongside with the IP Signage capabilities, each of these small devices is capable of decoding live video streams from Cabletime 775 or 779 model encoders. This means you could distribute live SD or HD quality video from a source (cable, satellite, CCTV, DVD, etc.) to a large number of monitors on that network. These live streams could also be integrated into the daily schedule between other multimedia content throughout the day or just shown by themselves to desired monitors.
